GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 1, 2007
President Joanne Devine called the meeting to order at 7:10PM.
INTRODUCTION OF OFFICERS
President Joanne Devine read off the roll call of officers of the Hamilton High West Band Parents Club.
MINUTES
Frank Czepiga, Recording Secretary, provided copies of the meeting
minutes from the September 10, 2007 meeting
for review and comment. After a brief period for review, the minutes were voted to be accepted as presented.
CORRESPONDENCE
There were no correspondences to be read.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
MEMBERSHIPS: 1st Vice President in charge of Membership, Susanne
Worthington reported
that three (3) new member families have signed up. The membership list will be reconciled with other
lists from Barbara Venanzi and she will provide updated information at the next meeting.
FUNDRAISING: 2nd Vice President in charge of Fundraising, Linda Giaquinto reported
the following information: Cookie Dough: sold 268 items for gross sales of $3,470.60; profit to student's
accounts of $1,340; profit per $12.95 item was $5.00. Flower bulbs: sold 163 items for gross sales
of $815.00; profit to student's accounts of $415.50; profit per $5.00 item was $2.50. Tupperware: sold
37 items for gross sales of $789; profit to Band Parents Club account was $315.60. Delivery date for Cookie Dough
is October 15, 2007. Flower bulbs in about a week. No delivery date for Tupperware.
PIT CREW: 3rd Vice President in charge of the Pit Crew, Steve Mundt stated that
for the upcoming game at Notre Dame we would not do PROPS.
LOGO ITEMS: Joanne Devine reported that the HHWBPC would have Umbrellas and HOODIES
for Back-to-School
night on October 3, 2007. She needs help staffing the HHWBPC table on that night. If anyone has
the time, please volunteer to help her out.
ROSA's RESTAURANT: Rosa's will donate a portion of their receipts to HHWBPC on the last
Monday of each month. Linda Giaquinto reported that Rosa 's donated $150 back to the HHWBPC from September.
Next date for this fundraiser is October 29, 2007. Please support this “EASY” fundraiser.
SCOTTO's RESTAURANT: Scotto's will donate 20% of all receipts to HHWBPC on the 2nd Tuesday
of each month. Joyce
Gallo reported that Scotto's donated $125 back to the HHWBPC from September. Joyce also reported that
SCOTTO's would donate trays of pasta for the band after Cavalcade is over and before we go to JACKSON for an
evening competition. Thank you Scotto's! Next date for this fundraiser is October 9, 2007.

SEPTEMBERFEST: No report.
CAVALCADE: We will have 5 Judges from USSBA. Diane Mandelko reported that it looks like
everything is set for Cavalcade. We will probable set up props early. Cavalcade starts at 12:00 noon.
AD BOOK: Danielle Ingeri reported that the ad book went to the printers. We are
getting 500 copies printed just for Cavalcade.
NEW BUSINESS
Joanne Devine reported that Danielle Ingeri would chair Senior Parent Day, scheduled
for November 3, 2007.
Frank Czepiga will again chair the Thanksgiving Day Breakfast for the Band. He will have
volunteer sheets available for the next monthly meeting. He reported that setup would start at 7:00AM with breakfast
beginning at 7:30AM. We are looking to provide Hot Cocoa, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Fruit Juices, Water, Dunkin Donut
holes, Muffins, Cookies, and Bagels for Band members. Thanksgiving Day is scheduled for November 22, 2007and HHSW
plays Steinert at HOME in the annual Thanksgiving Day “Turkey Bowl”.
2nd Vice President in charge of Fundraising, Linda Giaquinto reported the following
new fundraisers coming up would be A&M Pies, to start on October 5, 2007 and run thru November 7, 2007. Poinsettias
will be in December and Joe Corbi Pizza's in January.
Joanne Devine reminded everyone that Back-to-School night at HHSW is Wednesday, October
3, 2007, beginning at 7:00PM in the school auditorium. HHWBPC will have a table set up in the cafeteria for
membership and to sell LOGO items. Susanne Worthington will be running the membership side and Danielle
Ingeri will be there for LOGOs.
BAND DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Band Director, Brian Maher reported that about $70 in tickets had been pre-sold
for Piscataway. This is our 2nd year of competition and we started out with an eighth place finish out
of eight bands competing. We can only get better.
Brian also stated he is starting a 1st annual Band day at Grice, beginning October 23, 2007 where
he will bring over seventh and eighth graders at least 2 days a week to sit with the Band in 9th period.
Regarding the HHWBPC budget next year, he would like the HHWBPC to purchase heavy-duty racks for all pit equipment.

The next HHWBPC General meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2007 beginning
at 7:00PM in
the Band Room.
