HAMILTON HIGH WEST BAND PARENTS CLUB
GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 10, 2007


President Joanne Devine called the meeting to order at 7:15PM.

INTRODUCTION OF OFFICERS

President Joanne Devine read off the roll call of officers of the Hamilton High West Band Parents Club. Corresponding Secretary, Joyce Gallo was absent.

 

MINUTES

Frank Czepiga, Recording Secretary, provided copies of the meeting minutes from the August 21, 2007 meeting for review and comment. After a brief period for review, the minutes were voted to be accepted as presented.

 

CORRESPONDENCE

No report.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

MEMBERSHIPS: 1st Vice President Susanne Worthington reported that the club forty-four (44) families have signed up so far. Forty-six (46) families have NOT signed up; this includes thirteen (13) senior families. Family membership dues are only $5/year.

FUNDRAISING: 2nd Vice President in charge of Fundraising Ms. Linda Giaquinto reported that flower bulbs and cookie dough fundraisers are now in progress. She reported that both fundraisers have been extended to Monday, September 17, 2007. FYI, both fundraisers are student fundraisers, meaning profit from them go into the student’s accounts.

Linda Giaquinto also requested if anyone has any NEW ideas for fundraising; please see her as soon as possible.

PIT CREW: 3rd Vice President in charge of the Pit Crew Steve Mundt reported that he has procured two (2) trucks for the HTBOE for the purpose of trucking the HHSW band’s instruments and props for football games and competition events. Steve needs about 8-10 people to come out for each weekly football game and or competition for the pit crew to handle our props this year. If you’re free, please sign up for “PIT”. It’s a lot of fun!

LOGO ITEMS: Danielle Ingeri reported that she has looked into purchasing
HOODIES and UMBRELLAS as LOGO items that the Band can sell. She is looking into two (2) types of umbrellas. Smaller auto umbrellas that would probably sell for $12 and a full-size golf umbrella that would sell for $20. Both umbrellas would be “BLACK” with the “HORNET” LOGO.

HOODIE sweatshirts were also discussed. Danielle was looking into two types of sweatshirts: Pullovers and zip ups. Prices range from $20 for pullovers to $25 for a zip up. More information at next month’s meeting.

Short sleeve T-shirts will sell for $7. Long sleeve T-shirts will sell for $15. We will still keep the Black short sleeve polo shirts.

ROSA’s RESTAURANT: Rosa’s will donate a portion of all receipts to HHWBPC on the last Monday of each month. Linda Giaquinto reported that Rosa’s donated $200 back to the HHWBPC from August. Next date for this fundraiser is September 24, 2007. Please support this “EASY” fundraiser.

SCOTTO’s RESTAURANT: Scotto’s will donate 20% of all receipts to HHWBPC on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. No report for August. Joyce Gallo was absent. Next date for this fundraiser is September 11, 2007. Please support this “EASY” fundraiser. Joanne Devine also reported that Scotto’s would provide pasta to the HHSW band once a month for their competitions.

SEPTEMBERFEST: Diane Mandelko reported a profit of $1300 for Septemberfest. She thanked everyone that came out and donated his or her time to make this fundraiser worthwhile.

CAVALCADE: Diane Mandelko requested to have a walk-thru for Cavalcade on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 beginning at 5:30PM. Please meet her in the main entrance parking lot at that time.

AD BOOK: Danielle Ingeri reported that she needs ads for the ad booklet. It was discussed to charge the student’s accounts, if a buyout for the ad booklet was not received.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Available for pickup up was the resignation letter from Past president Jim Mandelko, who resigned the position due to personal reasons. By our constitution and bylaws, the 1st Vice President in charge of membership, Joanne Devine, has assumed the role of President of the HHWBPC for the remainder of the school year.

President Joanne Devine passed out a budget document that was voted on and accepted at the Executive Board meeting previously.

President Joanne Devine introduced the new 1st Vice President in charge of membership, Ms. Susanne Worthington.

 

BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Band Director, Brian Maher passed out his agenda. Please pick up a copy and see Mr. Maher if you have any questions.

 

OPEN DISCUSSION

The next HHWBPC General Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 1, 2007 beginning at 7:00PM in the Band Room.

President Joanne Devine adjourned the meeting at 8:30PM
